A tutoring agency is an employer of tutors. The agency has many prehire checks as well as monitoring the tutors during the time they spend employed by the agency. It is the ideal way to find a tutor for yourself or to help with your child’s studies.
Tutoring Agency
Lumen Learning Center goes beyond just being an agency. Lumen Learning Center does student evaluations to ensure the right tutor is being matched to the student’s learning abilities and learning style. This assessment will discover when there are learning disabilities at work and other helpful information in regard to the student’s learning.
Tutors
There are three different types of tutors at Lumen Learning Center that you might encounter.
Interns
Interns are support staff for the tutors, students and parents. They work under the guidance of a Senior Tutor helping wherever needed during classes, private tutoring and working on lessons.
Junior Tutor
The Junior Tutor works under the guidance of the Lumen Learning Center and helps with most aspects of the students’ educational needs both in the Lumen Learning Center and in students’ homes.
Senior Tutor
Senior Tutors work independently both in classrooms at the Lumen Learning Center and in students’ homes. They are educators that help students learn their subjects. They also supervise the Interns.
Qualifications for Tutors
All applicants for any type of tutoring at Lumen Learning Center must have excellent personal and professional references, plus pass a background check. Some tutors will have teaching experience and education specific to teaching students with learning challenges. The Senior and Junior Tutors have educational requirements that must be met before hire.
