Lumen Learning Center is in need of tutors for math and other subjects for elementary school and high school. Our tutors work either in students’ homes or at the learning center. Some tutors teach classes at the learning center for school subjects and for English as a second language.
All tutors at Lumen Learning Center must meet our strict standards.
All applicants for Tutoring Intern (prior tutoring experience not necessary) must:
- Be reliable and prompt
- Be currently enrolled in a college program
- Must have excellent communication skills, impeccable time management and organizational skills
- Have excellent personal references
- Pass a background check
Junior Tutors must also have:
- 1–2 years tutoring experience
- Experience working with learning challenged students is preferred, but not required
Senior Tutors must also have:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2–3 years tutoring experience
- Experience working with learning challenged students is preferred, but not required
Positions are available right now for experienced tutors in working one on one with students and/or working in a classroom setting. We are also looking for tutors in our English as a Second Language courses which might involve teaching adults, children or a combination.
