You’ve probably thought about using a home tutor to get help with your homework or your child’s lessons. You’re doing the right thing by looking into it. Having a tutor come to your home to teach makes a huge difference and makes learning much easier.

A home tutor will come to your home at the scheduled time and work with your child in the familiar surroundings of your home. This puts the student at ease and allows the focus to be on only the task at hand – the lessons.
In the beginning, it might take a little bit of work to keep his or her focus on schoolwork and not showing off favorite toys and such. However, it is a far easier adjustment than sitting in completely new surroundings.
How Often to See a Tutor
Your schedule with your tutor will meet the needs of the student. For some there is a lot to do and it will require several times per week to help your child get back on track with homework. As great strides are made, the number of sessions can be fewer per week.
Some students have a particular event coming up and that’s the only reason for tutoring, such as taking the SAT. In that case, there are just a few sessions until the tutor decides they are well prepared.
So, the schedule depends on the task at hand. For some students, it is a long-term commitment to keep up with others in the class, but for most it’s just a matter of getting caught up.
In the beginning, your child will go through an assessment to determine his or her learning needs and skill level in the subject that is suffering. At that time, there will be a discussion in what is needed as far as schedule.
