Tutor Available
Lumen Learning Center has many tutors available for helping people with their studies. These tutors are usually college students or recent graduates that love the art of teaching and helping those with learning disabilities.
Lumen Learning Center requires that all tutor applicants have prior tutoring experience, a college education – (the level of education depends upon the type of tutoring position), passed a background check and have excellent personal and professional references. We care very much about the students we work with and will make sure that student is matched with an effective tutor for him or her.
When a student first arrives at our Center, we will administer an evaluation. This helps us know the student’s learning style as well discover any learning challenges. Sometimes when a student gets behind in class it is because the material needs to presented in a special way. After the evaluation, we can prepare an effective teaching plan that addresses these issues and makes the subjects easier and fun to learn.
Our classes at Lumen Learning Center are sometimes for adults. We have classes and private tutoring for English as a second language and for learning Japanese, for instance. If you’re shy at first then you can start with one of the private tutors available. Once your confidence has grown, you can join the fun of learning in a group setting.
